If you understand this work, you can crush Class players in IQP positions

The quality of Baburin's work is off the charts. This book opened my eyes to the Isolated Queen's Pawn structure, which I try to get in as many games as I possibly can because this book showed me how to demolish people with it (at my level, Class "A," and even somewhat above my level).

One could call this a "specialized" middlegame text, but because the presence of the IQP is so ubiquitous in chess, this is just an extremely important work, and one that I feel doesn't get as much attention as it deserves.

The whole book is fantastic, but Part 1 (basically, Attacking with the IQP) is absolutely exceptional. THIS BOOK IS NOT FOR BEGINNERS, and you MUST know "basic" kingside attacking motifs to get optimal value out of it. But tournament players who go through it will have their eyes opened for sure. This book trains you to play IQP positions with calculation and general principles together! Baburin shows you the plans (even multiple plans in the same opening system) and when faced with such positions you will know almost exactly what to do.

Great book on positional chess

Covers the isolated pawn formation that occurs in several openings such as the caro kan panov, the tarrasch defense to the queens gambit, the nimzo indian defense and the french tarrasch. Covers pros and cons of Isolated Pawns. The major themes related to the isolated pawn, look inside the book to find out the themes. Great bit of analysis. The author goes the extra mile to make the rank amateur understand the concepts. The book is in 3 parts. The first part covering the isolated pawn formations and attacking patterns. Second part covering various endgames that occur from the isolated pawn formation. and the third being covering other pawn formations that the isolated pawn formation can change into. All chapters are good. I really liked the first part where he discusses the various positional strategies for the owner of the isolated pawn and the attacking themes involved followed by serveral illustrated games with good analysis. Also liked the part about how to combat the isolated pawn.
I would recommend this book to anyone who plays the queens gambit, nimzo indian defense, caro kan panov attack, english or french tarrasch, as the isolated pawn formation occurs in these openings. Great book teaching positional strategies. Can't wait for more good books from the same author.

I am a beginner at running CNC machines and I do have a few "gaps" in my understanding, especially, on how the machine thinks and how the referance datums are read. I have not read it through, but have thumbed through it in preview and I like what I see, it covers a lot of the foundational techincal things needed to sucessfully operate a CNC machine and machine good parts.

Awesome book, but watch for Errata!

This is a decent book. I was runing Okuma VMC's and this book helped me pave the way to running 4th and 5th axis Fanuc Robodrills at a new shop. As I am learning new things at the new job I find myself returning to this book to re-educate myself and "bone-up" on various topics. There are some really impressive MACHINISTS at my new job and thanks to this book and my sincere desire to give this career everything I've got I've been learning a ton of stuff over the last 6 weeks. My only grip is that it needs a lot of editorial work. At my last shop my "mentor" and I sorted out some pretty bad errata. Need to clean up this edition and ADD A CD with a digital copy of the book like Smid's other classic "CNC Programming" which has helped me immensely in understanding things like Helical Interpolation amongst many other things. About the Author
Pamela Ann Harris-Haman is a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner with over 30 years total experience in the NICU setting, with 8 years as a nurse and 21 years as an NNP. Her experiences in care range through the continuum of neonatology. Pamela is certified as a Lead S.T.A.B.L.E. Instructor, Regional NRP Trainer, and Mentor Trainer for Helping Babies Breath. She is a member of NANN, ANN, AAP-section of Perinatology, and AWHONN and is currently vice president of the Nurse Practitioners of Central Pennsylvania.

She is currently focusing on care for infants with NAS and those born to HIV-infected mothers. One of her interests is global health issues. She has been teaching NICU and maternal child health nurses in Africa in order to provide improved care and outcomes for infants.

Pamela received her BSN from The Pennsylvania State University and her certificate as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner from Georgetown University. She is currently enrolled at Stony brook University in New York.

An excellent pocket guide for the NICU nurse

I find this a very handy and compact reference guide for me in the NICU. I would recommend it to anyone working in the NICU.

Very handy book for nicu nurses has all the frequently used formulas and lab values. I think the cover quality however needs some improvement. But content is great.

It's okay, but better suited for an NNP. I thought that maybe it would be a nice pocket guide for me at the bedside, but in actuality not so much.
