SO FUNNY! Great coffee table book! My friends and family have all loved it as I got them all it as presents! It has incredible photos that will crack you up! It's a great conversation piece, it's interesting and it's done by an amazing photographer who donates her time & talent photographing shelter and rescue dogs needing homes! She is only able to do that by supporting herself with other projects like this! BUY IT! YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID!

Unique and Charming Portraits! Makes a Wonderful Gift for any Dog Lover

I pre-ordered three copies of Wet Dog planning to give them as gifts. Of course after browsing thru the pages I'm keeping a copy for myself. The photographs are inspired and delightful - funny and touching. The photography is amazing! I love that Sophie is so dedicated to animal rescue - especially older animals. As "Mom" to three rescues - Kizzie, a terrier mix was adopted at 6 years old; Koko, a Maltese/Yorkie mix was adopted at 6 years old and my beautiful Turkish Van cat, Kia was adopted at 12 years old - all from shelters - I have a passion for rescues, particularly older animals. So I felt an immediate connection with Sophie. Her concept of photographing dogs being shampooed is unique and charming. I highly recommend Wet Dog - treat yourself to a copy and get a few for gifts.

An evocative and clear book that simplifies a complex topic

The authors write with precision and clarity. They explicate a complex topic systematically and render theoretical constructs immediately useful. Numerous clinical examples add clarity and life to the theoretical aspects of their presentation. This book is readable by practicing clinicians and by the interested non-professional. As a post-graduate lecturer and psychoanalytic supervisor, I have found this book to be an excellent introduction to Kohut's Self Psychology primarily due to the authors' ability to hold the readers interest, to make difficult concepts clear, and to stay close to Kohut's the original ideas. This book is also useful as a refesher for experienced practitioners and as a good prerequisite for more more advanced and / or specialized study.

Authors not competent in Kohut's Self Psychology.

I've read all of Kohut's work and I know that the grandiose self ,at least according to Kohut, isn't a reaction to an imperfect parent which is repeated in therapy and nor is the idealized parental imago. Both are primary structures of the nuclear self and not reactions to lack of control and disappointment as these authors sometimes claim .
I don't believe either of these authors have actually read Kohut's books,or at least if they have they haven't understood them. Instead I suspect their education in Kohut's self psychology has been mediated through the teachings of Kohutians. Kohut wasn't a great writer. His sentences are overly long and run on and difficult to read but his work should be read in the original. If not then the reader is likely to get the distorted and inaccurate view as exemplified by this book. The only accurate reliable books on Kohut that I have come across so far are Alan Siegal's 'Heinz Kohut And The Psychology Of The Self', Philip Rubovitz-Seitz's ' Kohut's Freudian Vision' and Ernest Wolf's 'Treating The Self'. The rest of the Kohutian books I have come across have been like this book written by people who aren't really competent to write them. What I find difficult to understand is the positive reviews that this book got from reliable writers like Ernest Wolf who gave it a positive forward.

Excellent resource to help small business owners master Facebook marketing

Lasse Rouhiainen has published several guides about social media marketing for small businesses, starting with Smart Social Media, then 101 Video Marketing Tips. I use his guides and teaching to manage my own social media campaigns as well as one for a local small business.

Rouhiainen lays everything out well so that you can focus on the area you need. For example, one section helps you optimize your own personal profile to assist you in showing off your expert status. One ection focuses on paid Facebook marketing. Another teaches strategies for using video. Each section has several strategies or tips under it followed by action steps. These are great, because they help you turn reading about a method into acting upon it.

In the ever-changing landscape of Facebook (or any social media property), it's always good to have an expert guide who keeps up with everything. Reading these tips and strategies reminded me of good practices and taught me things I did not know. You will probably have a similar experience.
